你認得幾幅名畫？
大家比較耳熟能詳的藝術作品有梵谷在1898年所畫自畫像，自畫像在梵谷的繪畫生涯裡佔有相當大的比重，對他來說，這是檢示自己最好的方式，這個時期的梵谷，已經把左耳的繃帶給拿下來。從他的自畫像裡頭那剛硬、消瘦的臉部線條，糾結的眉頭，畫布上的筆觸，不用言語就能感受到他內心的鬰悶。
畢卡索所畫的哭泣的女人，是立體派的經典，畫中女人朵拉的臉部表情因為哭泣過度扭曲，筆觸線條突兀、色彩大膽強烈，她緊咬手帕那哀傷欲絕的痛苦，彷若泣訴發生在她身上的一切。

還有超現實主義畫派的達利與雷內．馬格利特，那奇怪的空間錯置，異於常人的繪畫表達方式，背後隱藏了畫家對於時事的糾結，戰爭、家庭、感情，都影響他們處理繪畫的手法。例如，雷內幼年時，母親投河自盡，打撈上來時，母親的臉部被衣服掩蓋的一幕，深植在他的腦海裡，導致他日後的創作的人物，臉都會被布包裏著，雖然他本人不太喜歡這個「解釋」。
在這麼多的名畫中，還有被拍成電影的《戴珍珠耳環的少女》，由荷蘭畫家維梅爾所畫；巴洛克時期，林布蘭的畫作《杜爾博士的解剖學課》；高中歷史課本上提到文藝復興時期的畫家波提伽利，跟女神維納斯有關的《春》；達文西除了《蒙娜麗莎》外，還有那預知死亡的巨作《最後的晚餐》。
